Volkswagen Group Service Schedule Breakdown

The service schedule for the Volkswagen Group is determined by the PR codes.

PR codes are a list of codes that tells us what the vehicle is fitted with, they can be found in elsa pro under vehicle data if you have access, or on the data sticker in the boot or in the service book.
Vehicles up to chassis C (2012) use thePR codes listed below to show what service schedular the vehicle should be set to.

Qg0 - Fixed interval servicing 1 year 10,000 miles with no oil quality sensor.

Qg1 - Flexible servicing 2 years 20,000 miles with oil quality sensor and brake wear indicators. The   service light may come on earlier if the oil quality sensor detects poor oil quality, this varies    depending on driving style. This service interval can be set to Qg2 on customers request.

Qg2 - Fixed interval servicing 1 year 10,000 miles fitted with oil quality sensor. This service interval       can be changer to Qg1 at the customers request. The service light will not come on sooner than the set time of 1year or 10,000 miles.

Qg3 Fixed interval servicing 1 year 10,000 miles with brake wear indicators. This is not common.

Vehicles from chassis number D (2013) use the PR codes listed below to show what service schedule the vehicle should be set to. The Qi number is unfortunately not shown on the data sticker though.

Qi4 - Fixed interval servicing 1 year 10,000 miles.
Qi6 - Flexible servicing 2 years 20,000 miles depending on oil quality and driving style.

Qg1 - This now just shows that the vehicle is fitted with an oil quality sensor.
Qg2 - This now just shows that the vehicle is not fitted with an oil quality sensor.

If  you want to reset the service indicator for fixed interval servicing it may be set using the dash controls. If  you require the service indicator to be reset for flexible servicing it must be reset using diagnostic equipment.

When resetting the service light to flexible servicing the reading on the dash will start of at --- and then start counting down after the vehicle has covered a few drive cycles.
When resetting the service light to fixed interval servicing the reading on the dash will show 9400 miles and 360 days. This is correct and will start counting down  imidiatly.

Other names for flexible servicing are, long life or variable servicing.
Long life oil should be used when the vehicle is set to flexible servicing. it should also be used if the vehicle is fitted with a DPF despite what the service interval is set to.
